Claire Eckley is the Director of Marin Dakota Consulting with over 40 years of experience as an instructor.
Claire is a Certified Teacher and Instructor by the International
Multi-sensory Structured Language Educational Council. She
trained and worked with Beth Slingerland as Mrs. Slingerland
developed and expanded the Orton-Gillingham technique to
the classroom. She has had 40 years of experience using the
technique in public school classrooms, instructing teachers,
and in tutoring individuals and small groups. She started a
school in Marin County, CA. for students having difficulty
learning in a regular classroom. She has experience from
pre-school through adult.
Claire is Past President of the Board of Directors for the Upper Midwest Branch of the International Dyslexia Association. She is also a national member of the Orton-Gillingham/Slingerland Institute, International Dyslexia Association (IDA) and Non-Verbal Learning Disabilities Association (NVLD).
Claire is currently working on a distance learning module for working with customers remotely when needed. Although in the early stages of development, it holds great promise for students who need to work online and cannot make the trip to an office because of time or mobility constraints.
